2026 Call for Papers: Open
BSides wouldn’t be BSides without your talks. They’re the heart of the event - the reason we exist.
And we’re ready to hear what you have to say!
For 2026, we welcome submissions from students, academics, researchers, practitioners, and professionals across all sectors and industries. We’re looking for a wide range of talks, covering both technical and non-technical content.
Our 2026 theme is The Security of Ordinary Things.
Modern security is no longer limited to obvious targets. It lives in the apps we rely on, the devices in our homes and workplaces, the identity systems behind daily work, the AI tools entering normal business processes, the suppliers we trust, and the infrastructure we barely notice until it fails.
This year, we’re especially interested in talks that explore the security of everyday technology, ordinary workflows, hidden dependencies, and familiar systems that carry more risk than people realise.
We’ve outlined several focus areas below, but they’re not limits. If you have a strong idea, a useful lesson, a fresh perspective, or a story the community can learn from, we’d love to hear it.
Our Focus Topics for 2026 are:
AI, LLMs & Everyday Security
Identity, Access & the Ordinary Login
Cloud, SaaS & Business-Critical Apps
Smart Devices, IoT & Connected Environments
Supply Chain, Dependencies & Third-Party Risk
Critical Infrastructure Hidden in Plain Sight
Incident Response & Cyber Resilience
Threat Intelligence & Adversary Insights
Offensive, Defensive & Detection Engineering
Security Awareness, Behaviour & Human Risk
If this is your first time submitting a paper and you’d like some guidance, select the “I’d like some mentorship with this talk” option when you submit your proposal.
